Many people use LaTeX to typeset their documents. By using LaTeX's picture environment, drawings can be made. The picture environment offers several basic shapes like lines, ellipses, vectors, Bezier curves and so on. The drawings have to be generated by writing LaTeX code. The drawback of this is that the resulting drawing can only be observed after compilation of the LaTeX document. Therefore, several programs provide the possibility to create drawings using a user interface. The LaTeX code can be generated by converting the drawn objects in the graphical user interface and write them to file.
LaTeXPiX is of of the LaTeX drawing tools which works under all Microsoft Windows platforms. It supports both the EEPIC as well as the PGF environment. Some enhanced features of the program with respect to other LaTeX drawing tools are:

* Shaded (filled with different grey scales) and colour filled objects.
* Bold and italic texts.
* Inclusion of images like JPEG and PNG.
* Arrows in any direction with different arrowheads possible instead of the restricted vector command in standard LaTeX.
* Elliptical arcs instead of just circular arcs.
* Splines.
* Support for PGF package.
